Furnace Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair gas and electric furnaces for homeowners across Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Washington DC, and the fastest next step is to call us with what your furnace is doing right now. Most no-heat calls come down to a cracked ignitor, a sooted flame sensor, a failed blower motor or control board, a clogged filter choking airflow, or a safety switch shutting things down for a reason worth finding. A visit starts with your thermostat and filter, then we open the unit, read any fault codes, test the ignition sequence and check airflow and venting. You get a plain description of what failed and what the repair involves before we touch a part. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility first.

The furnace symptoms we hear most

  • The furnace blows but the air is cool Ignition failure, flame sensor fouling or a gas valve not opening
  • It runs a few minutes then shuts off, over and over Short cycling from restricted airflow, an overheating limit switch or a dirty filter
  • Nothing happens at all when I turn the heat on Thermostat, control board, transformer or tripped breaker on the circuit
  • There is a loud bang when the burners light Delayed ignition from a weak ignitor or dirty burners, worth looking at soon
  • Some rooms stay cold no matter what Blower or duct airflow problems, closed vents or a failing motor capacitor

Furnace Repair — quick answers

How fast can you get out for a no-heat call?

Call us and tell us there is no heat, and we will get you on the schedule as quickly as the day allows. No-heat calls move ahead of routine work. If anyone in the home is elderly, ill or very young, say so when you call.

Is furnace repair worth it on an older unit?

It depends on what failed and how the rest of the furnace looks. A single ignitor or flame sensor on a well kept furnace is usually an easy call. Repeated failures, a cracked heat exchanger or a rusted cabinet push the conversation toward replacement, and we will say so plainly.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or use anything that sparks. Once the utility has made the property safe, call us and we will handle the furnace repair.

Why does my furnace keep needing the flame sensor cleaned?

A flame sensor gets coated over time and stops proving flame, so the furnace shuts down as designed. Frequent fouling often points to burner condition, combustion air or venting problems, so we look past the sensor itself to why it is dirtying so fast.

Do you repair electric furnaces too?

Yes. Electric furnaces fail differently, usually at the heating elements, sequencers, the limit switches or the blower motor. Diagnosis involves testing each element and control in the sequence, and we tell you which parts are done and which are still good.

Can a dirty filter really stop the furnace?

It can. A blocked filter starves the blower, heat builds up in the cabinet and the high limit switch shuts the burners off to protect the equipment. Changing the filter is a safe thing to try first before you call us.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
  • Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
  • Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
  • Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
