Questions West Virginia homeowners ask

Which parts of West Virginia do you cover?

We serve homeowners across West Virginia, and the city links on this page are the fastest way to find your area. If you do not see your town, call us anyway. Mountain roads and valley communities mean coverage is not a straight line on a map, and we would rather tell you yes or no on the phone than have you guess.

My furnace will not come on when the temperature drops. What should I check before I call?

Start with the thermostat, then the breaker, then the filter. Fresh batteries and a setting on heat with the temperature above room temperature rules out the simplest cause. A tripped breaker can be reset once, and a filter clogged after a long heating season chokes airflow enough to shut a system down on its own limit switch. If none of that changes anything, stop there and call us for heating repair. Anything involving gas, wiring or the burner assembly is our work, not yours.

I smell gas near the furnace. What do I do?

Leave the house right away and take everyone with you. Do not flip switches, do not use the thermostat, do not go looking for the source. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility and let them make the house safe. Once they clear it, call us and we will inspect the heating system and repair what caused it.

How fast can you get out for air conditioning repair in summer?

Call us and we will give you a real window based on what is already on the board that day. Summer heat waves fill the schedule quickly across the region, so the same morning you notice warm air is better than waiting to see if it fixes itself. Tell us whether the outdoor unit is running, whether the air from the vents is warm or just weak, and if you have heard any new noise. That helps us load the right parts before we leave.

What should I have ready when the technician arrives?

Clear a path to the indoor unit and the outdoor condenser, and know roughly how old the system is if you can. Note when the trouble started and what it does, because a system that cools fine in the morning and quits every afternoon points somewhere different than one that never starts. Pets penned up and a spare filter size written down both save time. If you have had prior work done on the system, mention it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
  • Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
  • Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
  • Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
