The ductwork symptoms we hear most
- One bedroom is always ten degrees off Disconnected or crushed branch run, or a duct that lost its insulation
- The AC runs and runs but the house never catches up Supply leakage into a crawlspace or attic instead of the rooms
- Dust piles back up days after cleaning Return-side leaks pulling in unfiltered crawlspace and attic air
- Air smells musty when the system starts Wet duct insulation or condensation on ducts in a humid crawlspace
- Weak air at the far registers, strong at the ones near the unit Undersized, kinked or leaking trunk and branch ducts
Search for it as ductwork repair or air duct repair and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Change the air filter if it looks grey or loaded, since a clogged filter can mimic a duct problem.
- 2Walk the house and confirm every supply and return vent is open and not blocked by furniture, rugs or stored boxes.
- 3Check the thermostat settings and put fresh batteries in, so you know the system is actually being told to run.
- 4Look at the breaker panel for the air handler and outdoor unit and tell us if a breaker has tripped, then clear leaves and grass clippings from around the outdoor unit.

How do you find a duct leak?
We start at the registers with airflow readings, then go into the crawlspace or attic and follow the runs. Loose joints, torn flex duct, failed tape and separated boots usually show themselves once someone is under there with a light.
Is sealing enough, or do I need new ductwork?
It depends what we find. Sound duct with failed tape and small gaps seals well and stays sealed. Duct that is crushed, undersized, rodent chewed or soaked with humidity gets replaced, because sealing damaged material only buys a season.
Why does my crawlspace duct keep sweating?
Humid air hitting a cold duct surface condenses, and that happens fast where insulation has sagged, torn or already absorbed water. We replace the wet insulation and address the duct that is losing its wrap so it stops repeating.
Will duct repair help my power bill?
Air you paid to cool that dumps into a crawlspace is wasted, so closing those leaks means the system runs shorter cycles to reach the same temperature. We will not put a number on it, but the comfort difference is usually obvious.
How long does a ductwork repair take?
Targeted sealing and a few reconnections are often a single visit. A full duct replacement in a tight crawlspace takes longer, sometimes a couple of days, and we will tell you the scope before we start pulling old duct out.
Can bad ducts damage the rest of the system?
Yes. Starved airflow makes an indoor coil run colder than designed and pushes a furnace heat exchanger hotter than designed. Both shorten equipment life, which is why we look at ducts before recommending any new heating or cooling equipment.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.
- Step 3
Repair and verify
We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us
- We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
- Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
- Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
- Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
