Questions Virginia homeowners ask

How fast can you get to my house in Virginia?

Call us with your address and we will give you the next available window, usually same day or next day depending on how far out you are and how busy the week is. Peak heat and the first hard freeze are our heaviest days, so calling early in the morning helps. If you smell gas, leave the house first, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us from outside.

Why does my AC run all day and the house still feels sticky?

In Virginia summers the humidity load is often the real problem, not the temperature. An air conditioner that is oversized, low on refrigerant, or moving air across a dirty coil will cool the thermostat area without pulling moisture out of the house. We measure temperature split and airflow, check the coil and drain, and look at duct and return sizing before recommending anything. Changing a clogged filter is the one thing worth trying before we arrive.

I live near the water. Does salt air really hurt my outdoor unit?

Yes. Salt-laden air corrodes condenser coil fins and cabinet fasteners, and once the fins go soft the unit sheds capacity and works harder every season. Homeowners in coastal Virginia counties typically need the outdoor coil rinsed and inspected more often than inland homes. We check for coil corrosion, pitted contactors and rusted line-set insulation at every maintenance visit.

What should I have ready before the technician gets there?

Know roughly how old the system is, where the indoor unit and the thermostat are, and what changed and when. If the unit is in a crawlspace or attic, clear the path and unlock any access hatch. Pets secured helps. If you already checked the breaker, thermostat batteries and the filter, tell us, because that saves us time and saves you money.

Which parts of Virginia do you cover, and do you work outside the state?

We serve homeowners across Virginia, and we also work in Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Use the city list on this page to find your area. If your town is not listed, call anyway and we will tell you straight whether we can reach you.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and what the thermostat reads against the actual room temperature. That short conversation tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the outdoor unit. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why, before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system through a full cycle and measure temperatures at the supply and return. If something upstream caused the failure, we tell you so it does not repeat.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know salt airCoastal homes lose condenser coils to salt corrosion years before inland systems do. We look for fin damage and pitted line sets on every visit, because a clean-looking unit can still be shedding capacity from the outside in.
  • Humidity is part of the jobHurricane-season air loads a system in ways a temperature reading will not show. If your house feels clammy at 74 degrees, we look at run times, airflow and drainage rather than just adding refrigerant and leaving.
  • Crawlspace realitiesHigh water tables mean wet ground under ductwork, rusted plenums and condensate lines with nowhere good to drain. We check what is happening under the floor, since that is often where comfort problems actually begin.
  • Straight answersWe tell you what failed, what it will take to fix, and whether a repair makes sense on an older system. No pressure to replace something that has honest years left in it, and no vague diagnosis.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
